Being a freelance web designer in Sydney

TIME_WASTERS_FREELANCE_WEB_DESIGN_SYDNEY

I thought I would share the good & the bad of being a freelance web designer living and working from home.

The Pros

  • You get to work from home.
  • Flexible hours.
  • No real hard deadlines, only what you place on yourself.
  • No distractions.
  • Coffee when ever you feel the need.

The Cons

  • All of the above... wait, but I just said that they where Pros?? Well that's until you come to realize that these are also potential time wasters.

Also, to all my fellow freelance web designers out there- Its never a good idea to work from home wearing your PJ's, I find its not good for the motivation & this comes across in the quality of your work.

Listen to great music, I choose Pandora or you could use Spotify, what ever floats your boat really, crank on a great sound track, I'm currently listening to the TRON movie soundtrack.

You really need to be hard on yourself to make sure you keep the projects moving forward, this is the only fair way of doing good business for yourself & your clients. There are a lot of tools on the net that can help a Freelance web designer or developer out there, its just a matter of sorting out what fits you & your business best.

Call back, in my next blog I will talk about tools I use to help make my job easier, and even better they are either free or don't cost as much as you expect.
